Pleasant Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant

Pleasant Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant - Roseville, Calif.

Kiewit Pacific Co., a subsidiary of Kiewit Corporation provided construction, testing and start-up services for the $98 million, Pleasant Grove Wastewater Treatment Plant in Roseville, California. Completed in 2003, the plant was designed to treat up to 12 MGD and serves 15,000 area customers in south Placer County. In addition, the new facility provides recycled water for a local golf course and park irrigation. The largest contract ever for the City of Roseville, this was Kiewit Pacific Co.'s second wastewater treatment plant for the City in less than a decade. The first project was the $50 million expansion at the Dry Creek plant.

Preparation of the 108-acre-site required more than 625,000 cu. yd. of earthwork and grading over a three-month period. The plant work involved 101,000 ft. of underground pipe; 36,000 ft. of above-ground pipe; more than 300,000 ft. of electrical wire; 40,000 electrical terminations; and installation of 35 process systems. Crews also constructed 31 structures, including an administration building, three oxidation ditches, four secondary clarifiers, two waste-activated sludge tanks, a solids handling basin, a chlorine contact basin, filter building, chemical feed building and influent pump station.
